DAY ONE - YORK
It's only appropriate to start a Factory Tour in the "Factory Tour Capital of the World!" Get a behind the scenes look at some of America's favorite products in York County. From motorcycles to potato chips to some of the world's finest wines, we've got something for everyone!
Start your morning with a tour of the Wolfgang Candy Company, voted "One of the Top 5 Tastiest Tours in the Nation by the Food Network!" See, smell and taste your favorite candy cooking, mixing, and coating. The young and young at heart will love to see chocolate enrobing peanut butter, almond butter crunch, mint creams and many, many more delicious candies. Then, take a behind-the-scenes look at the making of an Ameircan legend. Harley-Davidson factory tours are free and unlike anything you've ever experienced. You won't just watch motorcycles being built, you'll watch history being made.
Start your afternoon by watching the making of some of America's favorite snack foods, we've got a number of choices. Choose Martin's, Utz, or Snyders of Hanover for a real treat! Travel to Hope Acres to experiece the Robotic Farm tour. Truly an unbelieveable tour where you will see cows milked by robots. End the day at Naylor Wine Cellars and watch grapes transformed from the vineyard into America's finest wines!
DAY TWO - HARRISBURG/HERSHEY
Spend the day with chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate! HERSHEY'S CHOCOLATE WORLD has been satisfying cravings for the world's greatest sweet treat for 30 years. Experience chocolate-making from bean to bar on the free Tour Ride through a simulated Hershey's factory. Meet the HERSHEY'S Product Characters, experience HERSHEY'S Really Big 3D Show, and of course, eat some chocolate! The official visitors center of Hershey Foods Corporation is open daily and always free. New for 2004, HERSHEY'S Factory Works in hands-on, interactive fun for everyone! This dynamic new attraction gives visitors the opportunity to experience a real HERSHEY'S KISSES chocolates manufacturing line, and order mouth-watering personalized desserts from our very own entertaining bakers - the "Hershey-izers."
DAY THREE - LANCASTER
Start your morning with a leisurely stroll through Kitchen Kettle Village. Tucked in the town of Intercourse this village features 32 shops, each with a personality of their own. Follow your nose down Pepper Lane to the beat of Banjo Jimmy to Lancaster County's nationally celebrated jam & relish kitchen where you can sample their special pepper jam. See the sites around town on Reuben's horse-drawn wagon. Then dine at the Kling House, where all our sweets and sours are served.
Just down the road watch the traditional art of hand twisting pretzels at the Intercourse Pretzel Factory. Learn about this edible art and try your hand at twisting your own on their free tour.
Discover art of another kind at the largest fine art foundry on the east coast A.R.T. Research Enterprises, Inc. Watch exciting new sculpture being created by master artisans and technicians through the ancient lost wax method of producing metal sculpture.
Relax amongst sun-dappled meadows, an 18th century mill and a meandering creek at Nissley Vineyards and Winery Estate. Located on 300 acres, the winery offers both self-guided and guided sampling tours. On Saturdays in July through September, "Music in the Vineyards" features a series of 10 open-air lawn concerts for enjoyable evenings under the stars.
